Privacy
Yarn Weight Chart is designed to work without collecting a user profile. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send your yarn measurements to an application server.
What we do not use
- No account, login, newsletter, comment system, or file upload.
- No analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, error-reporting service, or social-media embed.
- No cookies and no third-party fonts, scripts, images, APIs, or content-delivery networks.
Calculation state
When you use the calculator, inputs stay in the loaded page. A shareable calculation is encoded after the # in the URL. Web browsers do not send that fragment to the web server in the HTTP request.
The site may store three preferences in your browser’s local storage:
ywc:units:v1— metric or US/imperial display preference.ywc:theme:v1— system, light, or dark theme preference.ywc:last-state:v1— an optional recent calculation so the page can offer to restore it. It expires after seven days and can be deleted from the restore prompt.
Blocking or clearing local storage does not prevent the core calculator from working.
Ordinary web-server information
Cloudflare delivers the site and may process the ordinary technical information needed to serve and protect a request, such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser headers, and security signals. Yarn Weight Chart does not add a product analytics or tracking layer to that delivery.
External source links
The reference page links to standards and publishing sources. Following one of those links leaves yarnweightchart.com, and the destination’s own privacy terms apply. The site uses a no-referrer policy, so it does not intentionally send the originating page URL to that destination.
Children and sensitive information
The tool is a craft reference and is not intended to collect personal or sensitive information from anyone, including children. Do not place personal information in a shared calculation URL.
Changes
If the privacy design materially changes, this page and its effective date will be updated before the new behavior is introduced.
